I’m glad that my first foray’s into literature were the Bible, the Hobbit and the lord of the Rings… my childhood brain was trained to keep track of multiple important characters with meaningful connections… but I admit that this has been a challenge 🤗 my brain has felt the work out to bring up what I should know about someone that pops up again 😰
Your exploration of physical weakness obscuring moral courage is very interesting and subtle. Thus far you’ve kept different characters guessing whether the king is weak or strong. By having him willingly drink poison for the sake of his son, you’re leaving us wondering what possible hold this lady could have on the king.
I like the irony that the one person from the Little Palaces is the only one to survive, besides So Ga of course. I thought I had a grasp on Ena Li's plans in doing away with the Princes, but this chapter is making me look closer. The intrigue just keeps getting deeper. Excellent!
So why is the pale red-head the evil lady..?? 🤗
Because we’re all tired of the Ariel trope
Hmm … I didn’t know it was a trope … haven’t seen many Ariels…. Anyway, it was a a tease at the author … you have seen her photo?
No Kío En you actually want to know!! Let him speak😭😭😭😭

Twists and turns. This is becoming exquisitely inscrutable!
Props to Isabel who can write what we're all feeling when we read.

Kio En: It made him think that a war might be coming.
Me: hahahhah, if only you knew
Kio En not letting the man speak was enraging me...like u can go ahead and not know...but us, the readers, WE NEED ANSWERS
Ena Li deserves a 20min rant video, her ways are so well written that despite having very little focus
Thanks! You’re right, Hilary did a great job teasing us. She’s so good at getting us invested!

Anyone have the chapter ref for when Sonen was first mentioned? I think to need to start taking notes on every chapter
They were first mentioned in Chapter three, then in six, and one final detail near the end of twelve.
