This new character is so interesting. Can't wait to read more about her storyline.

Reading this gave me an excuse for expressing what I like about your writing… it draws me in with believable characters… The woman is just that, a woman. Extraordinary circumstances aside, she’s not an ideal, a demigod nor glowing exemplar of some virtue. She has a purpose to the story, surely, and if we were to meet her in real life, I know we’d be impressed…but she wouldn’t seem otherworldly. I noticed this while I read The Court of Thorns and Roses, a book I would probably never had read if it wasn’t for you mentioning it in your video about modern writing and smut. Anyway, I was actually surprised at how quickly I was sucked into that book too. I have been looking to read more books written by women, lately, but what I’ve read in samples from Kindle have left me with a not great opinion of most of it. But you and Maas have done something I really enjoy, something that is all too often missing: believable characters. Feyra’s dad isn’t a weakling just because he’s a dad or a man… Feyra isn’t strong just because she’s the protagonist… So Ga isn’t just smart and wonderful…. He’s a kid who’s had to grow up real fast and sees that his continuing to do so will require all of his wits … so far, my only concern is that So Ga isn’t struggling with the seeds of addiction… that is, he isn’t struggling with a “refuge” from the trauma that helps him feel “good” and “safe” … having been a traumatized kid and working with traumatized kids… that is the only real thing that I haven’t seen in So Ga … but meh— still have a while to read 🤗

Ok, I’ve made it to chapter 21 of The Court of Thorns and Roses … and now I get what you were saying … but, I like that the “guys” for the most part act like guys….
